Filehippo not accessible.

This peculier problem started about a month ago.
I can no longer access http://www.filehippo.com from my computer. I have tried all browsers, no luck.I run avast antivirus and spybot search and destroy tea timer full time so no virus problems here.I have flushed my DNS cache several times without any luck.
I have updated my hosts file frequently using Spybot.
I can however access filehippo using proxy sites like guardster.
I'm using WinXP SP3 and BSNL broadband with 59.xxxxxxxxxx ip range.
I can access all other sites that come in my mind.
I suspect either COMODO firewall or my hosts file.
HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!

There is a problem with Filehippo for users of BSNL broadband connection. Filehippo recently banned the whole ip range BSNL uses and thus BSNL users cant open filehippo.com directly.

Thanks for the update.
http://in.youtube.com did the same for about 5 hrs till now(today).Going through either proxy or through http://uk.youtube.com.
I think it's BSNL thats causing all the problem.

only old users having 59.x.x.x have been banned.
No problem with new users having 117.x.x.x

Indeed Youtube is not working from BSNL now

That is not good to hear. The old 59.x.x.x range has been blocked various times before in varions sites across the world. Why doesn't BSNL give us a new range ?

I think online petitions (REMEMBER lower the price of iPhone in India here) is the way to go.

I have that ip range and i can access in.youtube.com
Maybe it is a DNS problem. I use openDNS

Yes it is a DNS issue. When I switched to OpenDNS, I can access http://in.youtube.com again where from default BSNL DNS youtube is still not opening.

Update : Surprisingly to me, http://in.youtube.com is now available again from default BSNL DNS, no need to change to OpenDNS.

I called BSNL today - they said the DNS servers were being updated causing the problem and IT HAD BEEN FIXED FOR YOUTUBE
Filehippo is still not accessible as its a ban.
But Youtube's fine.

My personal experience with users of this forum are that most of them barely read the first and last line of posts and go on posting their staff.There's one user on one of my threads who proved me right.I wanted users with IP addresses 59.93.x.x to confirm about youtube being offline and one user just posted he had ip 59.92.x.x and experianced no problems. So imp messages like this should be given in large fonts with diff colours or people will just overlook them.
