help moving wordpress blog to new domain

currently i am having my wordpress blog at x10hosting.com i.e techtricks.x10hosting.com.
now i am planning to move to new domain i.e techtricks.co.in.
i bought a domain and hosting space at outpowerhosting.com (dhamaka plan).
my version is 2.6.updated from 2.3.3 thru fantatisco

wht i did:

i googled for tutorials for moving wordpress blogs and did as follows

1>backed up my wordpress database using phpmyadmin.i replaced all the entries in the database file from techtricks.x10hosting.com to techtricks.co.in
2>downloaded all files in my public _html folder thru ftp (filezilla)
3>uploaded all files to new public_html folder and created new mysql database.
changed database name and password in wp_config.php

now i typed the domain name on browser ,i got a wordpress error that headers were already sent by ............error.(we'll solve tht later)
i again googled to solve the error but this time i could not access my web page ,i was directed to opendns page for 2 days.

while uploading files i had deleted or overwritten few files i am not sure of it.when i asked to tech support about this problem they said that few important files were missing and my account had to be re-created.

now i can access my account and i need to move the blog.

what tech support suggested:

"When you upload the files to the public_html folder, please do not upload the entire directory backup that you already have, that will only take the state of the site back to where it was. If you have a wordpress blog running, then please install wordpress again either in the public_html folder or create a new folder inside public_html called 'blog' so that even if anything goes wrong, you could just delete that folder and start over. Please reinstall wordpress and not just copy paste the files and update wordpress data only by replacing the wordpress database.
It is always advised to create sites inside folders in public_html and not directly inside public_html."

now i am in dilemma
1> installing wordpress from the start using fantastico and creating the posts again is ruled out.
are there any wordpress plugins available which can automate this task??

2>if i install wordpress in a newfolder as said by tech support,then the domain will be

techtricks.co.in/blog right?i dont want that,so can i go for insite redirection??
since i already have a blog in x10hosting ,i will be doing redirection there also to drive the traffic to new site.will these redirections affect loading time significantly?

3> is there anyway i can safely move in public_html folder itself?

Go to ur wp-admin on ur old blog. And then,

Manage > Export > Select authors etc > Download the XML File

Go to ur new blog's wp-admin. and then,

Manage > Import > Wordpress > Browse and uploaded the exported XML file.

Thats all !

thanku gigacore and coolg5 you guys made my job lot easier.i was stuggling with this.with your suggestions it took me less than 5 minutes.

wordpress's default theme was loaded,i FTP-d the themes folder into new account ,now evrything is going fine.even though plugins was not FTP-d to new account ,they were working .i don't know how??

.i FTP_d later

i just have to make sure that new account doesn't access the content or any other info from old account.

and the redirection part too

i just like to mention here that x10hosting services are really good.i never faced any problem with their services.i am using their services from 6 months
