very slow speed of net

i am using sify broadband rs250 scheme which provides me 128kbps speed but when i download anything the speed is mere 10 to 15 kbps. but the other users have sufficient speed(nearly 100kbps).
so what could be the problem?is it my computer??

Dude did you check the kbps and KBps thing? The capital B and Small b... they are Bytes and bits.

i second wat he said...plus....your download speed cant exceed one eighth of your internet connection speed...
as far as i kno (afaik)

Hi. If your plan is a 128"kbps", then you are getting the speed that you can max. avail i.e. 10-15 kb/s download speed. I'm suprised u'r getting up2 15 at least, my friend with the same plan never exceeded 13.5

you dont post that under Software Troubleshooting, put it under i-got-lucky-as-hell !

I'm using 128 kbps adsl and that's the download u get in that scheme. It's the right kind of download speed there's nothing to worry about. I get upto 16 kbps.

128 / 8 = 16

So ,16KB/s is the max that you will get.
