Default is " DCOM EXPLOIT " dangerous ?


do anyone know what a " DCOM EXPLOIT " is ,im facing a strange problem nowdays , somebody within my ip range is trying to hack or do something to my pc when it is online, but avast saves me everytime from this problem. avast shows the following message







is this dangerous, what should i do to prevent it.

Someone could have installed a spybot in your system. Maybe a friend who is trying to play a trick on you.

Yes the DCOM Exploit is dangerous.

Very first result in a google search at the moment

Code:
Start Menu > Run > services.msc > ENTER > locate Remote Registry > right click > Properties > General tab > drop down box > Disabled > OK
It's possible that some computer on your lan is infected with a worm which is trying to use this exploit to spread into your system. Install SP3 and keep the system patched with all the critical updates using automatic updates, use a firewall other than windows firewall and Avast has blocked the attack so you are ok for now.
