Default Icons

my default icons are not appearing as they should. Most of them are appearing like the regedit icon. I tried changing from the properties (though I can change using a different icon from the properties). Also tried reinstalling Xp but there is no change. Reason is : I had installed a software & uninstalled which I've forgotten. Can anyone help.

Get TweakUI from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/D...powertoys.mspx

Go to the repair option, select rebuild icons, and click repair now. Restart comp.

Download Tune Up utilities 2008 trial. It has an option to fix computer problems and if i remember correctly, it fixes such problems as well.
