Default software to edit scanned documents

hi all,

i'm looking for a software which can help me 2 edit scanned documents.
i'm not a pro, so i prefer it to be a free ware (but if its very good, i can even think of paid S/W).
i googled but could not make out which one is good, plz recommend me some based on ur knowledge or experience.

If you're looking for free and very good OCR soft, use SimpleOCR from http://www.simpleocr.com/

I've been using this and has a 90% success rate on the documents. I've tried abbyy finereader before, but its paid, and its bloated, so dropped it.

I personally use simpleocr to scan documents, edit it a bit, and use cutepdf to print it to a pdf for future use.
