When am downloading any file ....How to know the speed that at what speed the file is downloading? Please help guys i don't have any idea ?

clear ur question, frm where r u downloading internet or any disc.
if its frm internet -whenever u download any file ur browser gives the exact speed of downloading in separate download window.(eg.firefox,safari etc)
dunno if its frm any disc.

Iam downloading from Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1 browser .....is this ur taking about assume if am downloading a file say 5 mb in mozilla download box its showing me as ex: remaining time 3.0 mb of 5mb [7.0kb/sec] ...and another thing the speed is changing ...not a consistent speed

The number in your example 7.0Kbps is the downloading speed ..Ya it won't be consistent

7.0 Kbps means 7*8=56kbps connection speed.
is it dial up?
nyways speed may vary depending upon connection and ISP.
