Which Virus is this...? Windows keeps on closing

Hi,
My cousin's computer is definitely have some virus on his computer.
The Avast AntiVirus 4.7 is not able to update itself and not able to find any Virus.
Plz tell me the probable Virus frm the following indicators.

1. Explorer Windows keeps on Closing by itself.
2. Firfox Closes down by itself.
3. Sometime trying to open files creates a shoetcut in same folder
4. even cmd.exe closes by itself.

unable to install any new antivirus installer gets closed by itself(maybe Process gets killed)
so if I know the name of Virus I can se the specific cleaner for it.

uninstall avast and install kav trial version,then do a scan after updating it

Unable tinstall anything new, the installer process closes by itself.

go to safe mode by pressing f8 and try to install again...

also download this tool "HijackThis" frm here do a scan(in safe mode) & post the log file here.
