Red face help regarding partition.....

i just got hp pavilion 9550in yesterday

when i click on my computer i can see 2 partitions c289 gb) and d: factory image(8.39 gb)

my d partition has got a recovery file........
and windows vista is on c drive.....

so i want to ask that if can create more partitions from my c drive and how can i do this without losing anything on c and d ?
and which soft ware i should use to to this ??

You have Windows Vista so you don't need any third party application for partitioning. Use Shrink in Windows Vista. Your data will be safe & you won't loose anything.

thanx it worked

but got new problem
i shrinked my c from 289 to 228 and created new partition of 61 gb
but now i cant shrink my c more
stuck here
