Default Unable to create a partition


i don't understand why i cannot create a partition



i want to create a new partition out of the 7.19gb unallocated space into the logical drive. how can i do this?

try doing it like this way..

right hand click on MY COMP icon on desktop > click MANAGE > Click DISK MANAGEMENT >

then create the partition..

You can't create another partition because the rules state that:

=> Only 3 primary partitions can be created if there exists an extended partition.
=> 4 primary partitions can be created if you don't have an extended partition.


As your screenie shows, you already have 3 primary & 1 extended partition.
You should have created 1 primary partition and 1 extended partition. then you could have had logical drives in that extended partition.

Download Gparted live cd from
http://gparted.sourceforge.net

Boot from it

First increase the size of your extended partition and click Apply

After that resize the first logical partition int he extended partition
