Having a problem..plzz help

Hi.........Everyone

My friend send me a game in excel ... it was not opening , i thought its need a flash player to open so i installed ,but unfortunately it not opening . I have Vista installed and Microsoft Office 2003 but the same mail i forwarded to one of my my friend and their its working fine he too has vista and office 2003 installed

..So what is the problem in my system?

How can a game be in Excel ?? unless its some thing reading game or such :lol

may be they have some update which your system is missing which is required to run the game, like SP3 or Office Compatibility Pack SP1 or such !!!

yes chota cheeta the game is in excel ...its called apple shooter ....i wil send u a mail if u like me to send ...can i have ur mail id

There are several games in Excel and a few in Word too. You can Google to find out more and update your knowledge, instead of laughing and mocking at someone who has come here to ask for help!

Iam not getting any error .....just its not loading or starting the game

Right click game.exe
select the properties> compatibility tab> check "Run this program as admin"
now try run.
also can try to campatibility mode of xp(sp2)

tell me 1 thing...when u open the game's excel file then MS Office pop-up a screen with 'enable/disable macro' option???

Lemme know if you have SWF player installed in your system or drag the game in Inter Explorer.

It sud work fine now.

open that excel > tools > macro > security > set the security level to 'medium' > save the changes

reopen the excel file...'enable the macro' option...bingo!!

btw if the file come in zip then u hav to extract it...then flw above steps
actually i have dat game...i faced da same problem...nd i sort it by this process

Last guess:
seems you are trying to run game directly from zip folder.
first extract into a folder, then run it.

now, you know why this game not run?
your friend send you .xls file without packing it in zip.
it is not an ordinary excel file.
it contains intractive contents.
Sending directly these types of file result in loss of some important information.
say to friend , send it in zip.

Hm........ i dont think he needs to send me that file in a zip folder because same file or mail can be opened and the game is playing fine in other systems

If its a game base don Macros then you need to change the macro Security to a lower level. but i see that was already suggested. You can check again by setting ti to low for this file and try again.

Also try installing a shockwave player. you might want to get the URL for the flash site he got the Flash game from just in case so you can access it.
