firefox and IE prob

ive a prob guys..!!

i donno y...whenvr i open a website the browser acts like as if im nt connctd to the internet...thn the taskbar disappears fr a few seconds...thn comes back.. say suppose i open gmail.com, the icon of the red letter(gmail icon) comes up before the address of the website...bt nthng else comes....

this is the prob im facing with firefox and IE...the strange thing is tht this thing is nt happening with apple safari...

pls help/..

Please mention the OS and system specs also, are you sure the system is malware free ???

ive win vista ultimate..
core2duo 2.4, 2gb ram..!!
i use avast...as an antivirus...tell me wat sftwre is best for malware cleaning.>???

is your Vista properly liscenced dude? if yes, you can scan your system with fully updated Windows defender. If that doesn't works, try Spybot Search n Destroy + Adaware both. Google the names for downloading them. Spybot is also available in Digit DVD/CDs.

Just o add to it, do obtain the SP1 aswell as visit Microsoft update to find if any sysem specific update is given or not
