.txt files are not opening

Hello guys,
I have a strange problem since this morning I started my PC.
When ever I tries to open a txt file. It gives a strange error.
example:
C: Document and Settings/vimal/Desktop/serial.txt
Access is denied.

I need help.

Try to open it from Notepad:file >open
if it works then right click on file and choose open with (if there is not "open with" entry click try to hold shift key while clicking).Also check the box "always open with"
Choose notepad from application list and select always open it with selected application.

maybe your defalut apps are spoilt
right click the file and select openwith then select notepad

Many of the times when some un knowledgeable person works on the system, he changes the the file opening extension without knowing whats wrong he is going to do.
Many causes but one possible cause is try to open the file with wrong supported software or unknown softwares.

this solution is sometimes the cause of problem.
people unknowingly set the file "always open with" wrong software or other wrong things
