Default Run From CD Anti-Virus...?


Guyz... Can Ny1 Suggest Me A Good Run From CD Anti-Virus (If Exists), Such That I Don't Need To Install It... Just Have The Virus Def'n On The Disk... Think As If I Dont' Need Any RealTime Protection Or Somthin...

Hmm...i think there is not any such AVs. But there are some tools like MWAV, which is comes in a SFX archive, and when you run it, it gets extracted to Temp Folder, and automatically opens up. This will scan for Viruses, Spywares etc. You can burn the SFX archive to CD, and run it from there. But the free version does not remove detected malwares.

I think Norton allows you to run a scan from the CD itself. But it serves no purpose because after a week, the virus definitions will become outdated and therefore useless. It would be better if you ran an online scan like Trend Micro. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
This will let you scan your PC with the latest definitions everytime.

in case u feel that u dont need real-time protection, u can always disable this option, and run the anti-virus 'on-demand' only, as and ven u require it. most anti-virus have this diable option. this will also save on your resources. 8)
