Plzz help?

I have a strange problem . I switch on my system then i see in post it showing me Drive A: Error.But in my system floppy is not present then what i did was I went in bios and disabled floppy drive , my hard disk is sata and its showing in bios and i have set first boot to my Hard disk but still am not able to boot only the manufacturers logo will come and them stop only a black screen and a small hifen ( - ) blinking . Can anyone tel me what is the problem

Some motherboards have certain issues with SATA Hard Disk my friend had an intel mobo ... I think it was 945 chipset i dont remember for sure ... That board had some problems with SATA Hard Disk ... he replaced it with PATA HD .. now its working fine

I don think so, this command will overwrite the information in the boot sector of your system partition. And i beleive his problem is because the motherboard is not detecting the hard disk as bootable media or something like that but anyway there is no harm in trying that ..

go to recovery console and try those commands and also check your SATA cables if they are connected properly or not...
