Default advice

1.How do i make my desktop icons transparent.

2. I downloaded a software called lovely folders. It is used to change the looks of your desktop icons. After installation was complete the desktop icons vibrated vigourously and started blinking..After a few days i wanted to remove this software as whenever i closed any windows using the red X i on the right top corner all the icons would shake and blink very fast.So i uninstalled the software from the add remove programme and also removed all traces of this software using c/ programme lovely folders.Yet the colour of the desktop folders is still the same ( blue).I want to change it to yellow which is the default colour. Any suggestions.

1) right click on desktop, and unlock desktop icon...this may help. Let me know if this does not work.

2) Install TuneUp trial version, and set folder icons to default. This is easiest solution.

You already made a thread for this before...

and ravi, he wants to make them transparent... not hide/show them. You want to make the ICON transparent or the BACKGROUND transparent? for background, set it at System properties->advanced->performance settings

I tried it, it adds a transparency layer to the icon text, but not the icon itself.

You are right mr dheeraj. Only the text and desktop background changed. But the icons are still the same.It installed an old desktop background automatically without me touching the background.
