Question Re-Enable USB Port


Hey tech gurus

In my office, we have win xp with sp2. They have disabled the usb port for storage devices using a script. Usb mouse works fine though. I made some changes to the registry too, but didnt help...... any pointers?????

USB ports can be enabled/diasbled through BIOS as well as Device Manager also.

by the way your admin has used third party application to block usb for mass storage, see if there is any software like this & repost.

thanks for the link......
no, my admin hasn't used any 3rd party sw....he's disabled it via scripts.... also, i noticed that he's restricted permissions to the usbstor.sys file in the root dir.....


any help????
