Default problem with xp and fedora(linux)

I have a comp.
The configuration is as follows
Intel core2duo
Intel 945 chip set motherboard
I have a dual boot system with Xp and Fedora9
The problem is that in Xp whenever I try to boot it boots ,showing the boot screen and the display goes blank.I tried even in safe mode, vga mode ,debugging mode but the same result.
In fedora the user login screen appears but after logging in it hangs.

I have even set the bios to the default mode

They are getting loaded but the display is not shown i.e after booting in safe mode the safe mode the safe mode message appears in all the 4 sides but no display
The same in normal mode only a blank screen appears.
