Right Off the Assembly Line

I am using acer ASPIRE4710 laptop with operating system as fedora 7 .I want to know is there any driver for the sound cards for linux? Although sound is coming from the laptop yet i cannot increase or decrease the sound from the button on the laptop . I can only increase or decrease the sound from the player such as vlc or real player. Also i am not able to use headphone for the same unknown reason . PLZ help me out . Thanks |

it is easy,go to volume control>edit>preferences> tick the appropriate ones like line-in,mic etc if to want mic support. reg headphone,well,in Desktops,we have to plug in the same slot as for speakers to get the o/p
reg volume control shortcuts> go to menu System>preferences>Keyboard shortcuts and assign the needed!
