Default How to transfer Desktop to other drive

I install all software and OS to my C drive and keep all data's on D drive.
I transfer Mydocuments folder to D drive. So whenever I have to format C drive, I can do without need of any backup. But still I have to take backup of my desktop as I put some data on it. Can I transfer it to D drive as MYdocuments.

start -->> run -->> type regedit -->> ok
Windows registry page will open.navigato to here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Double click desktop in right pane..and change its location.

Must make a restore point..before doing this.

You can also do this with a simple tool TweakUI

Download from here:

you should not keep data on you rdesktop, it isn't safe, can get deleted anytime.
if u r in habit of copying to the desktop, then here's an idea.
in documents and settings, search for 'send to' folder. in this folder make a shortcut of any folder on D drive. now while copying, just right click on any file and click the folder under send to.

Yes Cool Buddy, you are right. But many times in hurry you download the things to MYdocument & Desktop. So if by default the location of this folders is on D drive than there is no need to backup. I can do it for Mydocument by right click and change the location. For Desktop I was not having idea. Thanks to Ravi again for this.
