Default How to resize C: drive in Vista?

My notebook has single C drive of 70GB. But I can't shrink it to anything less than 40. I think it is because the page file is acivated on the drive. Please tell me how to shrink it to say 15GB and take the rest as another as a partition? I know this is posted here before.. I did a search and couldn't find it. Sorry in advance to those who have taken pains to post this!

^No you cant do it in Vista. You are right, its coz there is paging file active on the partition. You may be able to gain more space by fully defragging the partition. If you have say, 1.5+ GB of Ram then turn off pagefile before defragging, turn it on afterwards. Try that. Even before trying to partition using GParted live cd, defrag to get best results. Also, using GParted may give you better results then the inbuilt Vista Disk Management tool as the partition is totally offline while using GParted.
