Minimized window not appearing in taskbar

When I am minimising the window, it is not appearing in the taskbar.Although it is possible to access and switchover among them using alt + tab but I want the normal thing back.I am using XP with SP2.
This happens to all the programs like IE, windows explorer, Media player etc.
I have NOD32 with latest update and spy-sweeper with latest update.Scanned the computer by both of them.No virus or spyware found.Cleared all the unnecessary cache files with window washer(by webroot).

ps. IE7 is opening with 1/3 of it's actual size.Nothing is malfunctioning so far.

Please help.
