Weird Internet Explorer Icon

Hello

There are certain icons like My Computer, Network Neighbourhood and Recycle Bin and stuff which are there permanently and dont change there places at all, no matter how you arrange your icons on desktop.

But My Internet Explorer icon has changed. It has turned into the icon with the black arrow on it instead of arrowless clear icon.

This was not so when I installed Win2K on my computer but it has changed after I upgraded to IE 6 Sp1.

so I rolled back to my previous version from Add/Remove Programs but still the icon is same with just the color changing from faint blue to dark blue like it is from version 6 to version 5.

Help me out !!

Also due to this the internet explorer icons changes its place on my desktop as I add new icons or delete some.

It is very uncomfortable you see.

That is the shortcut icon of internet explorer. This means that actual internet explorer icon has been disabled on the desktop.

In Internet Explorer Go to Tools>>Internet Options>>Advanced Tab
and check against the option Display Internet Explorer on Desktop. And now delete the arrow ie icon.

For arranging the icons right click anywhere in desktop and select arrange icons by name.

That will solve your problem.
