^^

Well, i hv been a user for both Numeric 600 VA UPS as well as APC 500 VA,

In my opinion, APC is the BEST (even thou it doesnt have a s/ware support) as im using it since past 3 months,

My Numeric UPS (600 VA) doesnt had such an option, even thou the manufacturers claim it (My Numeric UPS went Kaput!! after serving me for 5 years)

NOTE: An APC 500 VA UPS (model named as APC Back Ups) will cost u around Rs.2200/- and it is the BEST (as many other users will tell u after reading my and ur replies) and its my personal eXPerience too..

Cheers n e-peace...

Hey thanks for the reply Ill check if my dealer has APC though, but 5yrs for a UPS isnt bad right ?Thats a good life period for a UPS aint it ? How many times did you have to change the battery though & how long are UPS's expected to live for ?

I had not got this auspicious opportunity to change the UPS battery in these 5 yrs (till it was working), yup, its a good reliability..

But, still do check for APC, i knw u wnt regret it,

UPSes are expected to work for a good 5-6 years.. on a single battery.. porvided u follow sum instructions to make its life worth living.. say,

1.) PRevent it from dust, i.e cover it with a cloth once u hv finished ur work on PC.

2.) ppl say its a good idea for a UPS to be ON for eternity, but tats a bad bad habit, PLEASE for god's sake and urs too plz SWITCH OFF the UPS once u hv done with ur work.

Cheers n e-peace....

My numeric UPS came with an application cd pack, soft tissue pack, 20-cd holder pack, the cable for connecting, and the controlling software.

There is a slot for the cable in the UPS. You can connect it easily to the comp.
