Question Media Coder Compatibility

In MediaCoder I'm able to convert any file into Xvid using AVI container and LAME MP3 for Audio but if I try to convert any other file or same file into other formats like MP4(Mpeg2 Video LAME MP3 Audio), it always shows error. Video Tutorials are of no help either. Anyplace where whole format and container compatibility info. is given?

I think this should solve your problem: Install K-Lite mega codec pack from Digit CD. select all the codecs you might use.

What the **** man. Installed the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack but no **** happens. What's the cause? Still getting error when trying to convert a MPEG movie to MPEG2, with FFMPEG audio and MPEG2 container. Only the Xvid AVI **** works.

you should download the latest version of media coder from sourceforge.net. from what you write, it seems you have an old version which had many issues.

tell me exactly what you did and what you wanted to do. Then I can help. I am an ex-multimedia geek. (currently no time for experimentation). But I can still help with common softwares like SUPER, MediaCoder, etc.

I wanted to "Join" 2 .vob files in the following profile:
Format- MPEG2 (Bitrate Based)
Container-MPEG
Audio Encoder-FFMPEG

I get error every time I use any other profile other than
Format-Xvid(Bitrate Based)
Container-AVI
Audio Encoder-LAME

Even the Default profile in which format is H.264 and container is MP4, doesn't works. Just gives error.

This is What I Do:
Following is the input file detail:
Format : MPEG-2 Program
Format/Family : MPEG-2
File size : 1024 MiB
PlayTime : 1h 59mn
Bit rate : 1203 Kbps

Video #0
Codec : MPEG-2 Video
Codec/Family : MPEG-V
Codec profile : Main@Main
Codec settings, Matrix : Standard
PlayTime : 1h 59mn
Bit rate mode : CBR
Bit rate : 927 Kbps
Nominal bit rate : 8808 Kbps
Width : 720 pixels
Height : 480 pixels
Display Aspect ratio : 16/9
Frame rate : 29.970 fps
Standard : NTSC
Chroma : 4:2:0
Interlacement : Bottom Field First
Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.850

Audio #0
Codec : AC3
PlayTime : 1h 59mn
Bit rate mode : CBR
Bit rate : 192 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Channel positions : L R
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz

Menu #0
Codec : DVD-Video

Now if try anything other than "Xvid" format "LAME" Audio and "AVI" container it gives error.
