admin moderator help needed regarding FTP

hi

i m working in an Industry..... i m using FTP developed by NetManage Inc. with IBM netfinity server (old model of IBM)....it takes a long time about 2-3 minutes while connecting via FTP. but when we connect via UNIX, it connects immediately....also while connecting to new IBM x225 server with same FTP by NetManage, it connects immediately...so there is some problem with IBM netfinity server or its application.......
plz tell me how make fast FTP connection with this server ........
pzl help me soon......

What do you mean by that, FTP is a protocol, UNIX is an operating system. Both are different things!

But why would you want to make FTP connections with this server?

I think he means..
Connect Via FTP = Connection via FTP client like CuteFTP/FileZilla/CoreFTP..
Connect Via UNIX = SSH access via putty

In any case 2-3 mins for connection is a problem. Report it to your host (Netmagic). they will assist you about the same.

i have a software package named CHAMELEON developed by NETMANAGE INC.... after installing this , it gives applications like telnet for connecting to UNIX, FTP for connecting to FTP on server for transfering files. my IBM server is UNIX based....
i think i m clear now

i cant report it to my host NETMANAGe b'coz problem is somewhere in server not in connecting medium or application.....
