yahoo messenger problem

hi
i cant get yahoo messenger working in vista what to do i need it

What's the problem? Any errors? Please be more specific.

humm
it installs perfectly but when i run i cant sign in to my account and after that when i close it and it minimizes to system tray{thats normal} and when i exit it from there then there is a msg. "this prodram requires flash.ocx file to run which is no longer included in this windows' version" i tried download flash.ocx from ocxdump.com but in vain....

Which version of Yahoo Messenger have you installed?
Get the latest one from here messenger.yahoo.com

i have downloaded the yahoo msg9 from softpedia

get back to 8.1
9 is still in beta so it has many problems. it crashes on my system too.

Secondly when you try to sign in what happens? As you said you cannot sign in.

i had the same prob in vista wid 9 beta switch bak to 8.1 and it might wor...it worked for me....

there is a special version of yahoo messenger for vista, try that and i am using yahoo 9 on vista its working fine for me

Install the latest Flash Player from Adobe.com in your system and your problem should be solved.

Then also try to register the ocx file. Open RUN and give following command:

regsvr32 %windir%\System32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9e.ocx

Here I have mentioned the file version of Flash player installed in my Windows. Change the file name acc. to your system. Check which .ocx file exists in "%windir%\System32\Macromed\Flash\" folder.

That means Flash Player is not installed in your system. Open following link in IE and download the flash player:

^^ Have you installed it using IE or Firefox? Since no .ocx file exists in your system, thats why I request you to reinstall it using IE.

i installed it using opera now will do using ie but i cant understand the difference with browser!!!v have to download the installer {no matter with which browser}

^^ My pleasure. Actually Yahoo! Messenger uses IE as default browser, thats why it was not detecting the flash player. When you installed it using IE, it detected and started working.
