Download videos from you-tube and google

I am using windows vista home basic, i want to download some of the you-tube and google videos but I do not know from which software can they be downloaded on my laptop. Also provide me the link from where I can download the software, if possible.

The Video will be downloaded in .flv format

It can be played using VLC Media Player or you can convert it into any other media file using some converters

Never tried SMC

as far as i think VLC is one of the best media players available in market

I'm not able to move the slider when viewing a flv in VLC but can do in SMC

anyway VLC is the king overall
