start -->. run -->> type:
regsvr32 /u gpedit.dll

Again, start -->. run -->> type:
regsvr32 gpedit.dll

restart, your problem should be solved.

Are you using Win XP Home Edition or Professional Edition? Group policy Editor is not available on Home Edition...

Try this solution:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...1&PA=1&SD=HSCH

Or if that also dont work than..........
start -->> run -->> type this and click ok
sfc /scannow

Insert win XP CD, when asked , and restart after it is completed.

Should solve your problem.

Could you confirm if you have XP Professional edition and not Home edition?

You can also try Doug Knox's Security Console at http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_securityconsole.htm

This happened with you because Group Policy editor is not included in the Home Basic it is availble in XP Professional.

Follow these steps.

Click Start and select Run.

Type msconfig and Click OK.

Click Expand File.

Type framedyn.dl_ in the File to restore field.

Restore the file from the i386 folder on the XP CD.

Save it to the %systemroot%\System32 folder.

Follow these steps and look if this solves your problem or not.
