Windows XP SP3 installation error

I am trying to install SP3 of windows xp, I have Media center edition, which is allready updated with SP2.

I have tried 2 time to install, second time i have waited 3-4 hrs to complete the installation, but it can't..... it stop after 15-20 min in the screen where msg. shows "Running after installation" and I have to reboot the computer.

Can any one help me to install this updates.

I got windows XP SP3 RC1 on the Chip DVD 2 months back

Its always a good idea to do a fresh windows install for a service pack.

Ok..that may be RC version.

You have media center edition.

This issue affects Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002.If you install this release candidate on a computer running Windows XP Media Center 2002 with XP SP1, Windows XP Media Center may malfunction.

To avoid this, install Windows XP SP2 before you install this release candidate.

If this issue has already occurred, uninstall this release candidate, install Windows XP SP2, and then reinstall the release candidate
