Default Dark Display !?

I am running Windows XP Professional with SP2.

After formatting my Computer i installed all the Drivers [including video]
but if i play any video it appears extremely dark!
I have tried
KLite - Media Player Classic
VLC Player
Windows Media Player 10

.. but once or twice at random the normal display appears but is gets dark as soon as i restart it.

Could there be any reason for this ?!?

.. And i would like to add that my computer has been having Heating Problems of late.

could this be related ?

i dont think they can be possibly related. why dont u just try increasing the brightness or have u considered that the video itself is initially dark?

Do you think it is problem with your moniter.

Do one thing...try your system on another moniter...this will clear whether the problem is moniter related to CPU related.
