how to put ads on wordpress?

can any one tell me if i can put ads on free wordpress blog if so how?
I have tried to copy/paste an ad code from adsense but it is not getting saved.

I have not used free wordpress hosting, so I cant tell you exactly. But I think you need to install adsense plugin for this.

Just copy the adsense code (preferably Javascript from Google and create a blank widget for the sidebar and paste the code there. When the widget is enabled in the sidebar it'll show the ad.

Also adding the adsense plugin is a good idea. Search in wordpress.org for the suitable one.

No ! You cannot put ads in Wordpress.com blogs.. Cause this feature has been disabled by WP Community.. ALso if you want to put ads.. Get buy CSS or host your blog using Wordpress.org to a diff. web hosting

As of now, ads can't be added on a free wordpress blog. Check their FAQ link below. However Wordpress is considering it in future versions.
