Default MP3 files /folders can be compressed much ? If so which tool is the best ?

I know MP3 is already a compressed file format, but just wondering whether there is anyway to compress MP3 files ? I tried these so far

7 Zip, Winzip, Winrar, WinUHA

But they didn't compress the files much.

To make it clear, I do not want to lose quality of MP3, like no lower bit rate or nothing that affect MP3 file directly. I need something that compress the file / folder containing MP3 (like 7 Zip or Winzip).

It is impossible or there is any other tool ?

^AFAIK , Not possible.

MP3 is a type of lossy data compression and it uses compression techniques internally.

Any compression would be possible only by using another bitrate or sample rate.

^^ Please dont do offtopic discussion...
@ Din :
u can try that KGB Archiver(or whatever) to compress
I use 7-zip btw..
What u do is be4 creating archive set the storage to BEST (not fastest) so u may get a more good compression Ratio

Or you could use alternative formats like aac or wma. wma at 64kbps offers quality that a mp3 offers at 128kbps

u can compress mp3 files by converting them to .rm fromat but they will loose
quality....& takes less space.....

PS: but what is the converter 4 dat I dont know.....better try .aac they
r better than mp3 or mp4 if u want quality....

What software can we use to reduce the bit rate and hence file size. Say for example from 320 Kbps to 128 Kbps!

^ Transcoding is the last thing you wanna do.
You'll end up losing quality , IMO Keep the files you have at that bitrate,
and only test new bitrates while ripping from cd's.

Hmmm

Sorry, but my intention was to get the file compressed like zip / rar / 7zip, like that.

Not making any changes to MP3 file / no file conversion like rm etc.

Sorry for the confusion.

Anyway seems there is no way..

Yeah.. MP3 files cannot be compressed more. The only way is transcoding, which is a bad thing to do
