hi guys i hv bought hp pavilion laptop and its having vista premium in 12 gb recovery partition. i want to know how can i write it on a dvd. plz help me
n tell me which software i have to use for this..

Please check backup software in your notebook, bcoz compaq notebook comes with backup software, yours is premium notebook. Backup software will make disks of your size (600mb/4gb/8gb).

make a recovery disc using the in-built recovery disk creator



only ONE set of disk can be made.

can i install vista through this disk in future?

Yes but it will be not a clean vista installation but as you got when you purchsed the system. Most prolly it'll also wipe your HDD clean before install.

Note down the existing Vista serial key for your computer using which Vista is installed right now. Then either get a Vista DVD from the vendor or from "other means", reinstall vista on a clean partition & use the existing key to activate.
