The P-word with rmvd....DAMN!!

I've got heroes series in Real Media video format.
Now, when I play these videos in Real Media, the video,when played in full screen comes a bit pixelited.... like this:


Its quite annoying .....

I've got K-lite codecs installed and then I tried it to play it. In WMP or Media Player Classic,against my expectations, these videos didn't play. That it, it just stucked there, not moving.... however I noticed that , even though they froze up....the frozen frame ,when fullscreened doesn't pixelite, unlike in Real Media Player:

That made me believe that the problem is with the Player, rather than the videos. So I tried VLC, jetAudio so that I can play the videos without making it pixelite. But to no avail. So can someone suggest better a alternative than Real MEdia , for rmdv which can play it without doing the pixelitation

RMVB prints are all crappy anyway. Get a decent AVI version of that Heroes SE01E01 you are trying to play, its just 350 MB and worth every bit per second

with K-lite mega codec pack std installation WMP shud have played d file

i dont think rmvb files r supported by vlc player

if u were still able to play it, then turn on deintelrlace>blend and put post processing to 6

wat is the point of mentioning that u have the Heroes series in rmvb format

wud the solution of the promblem b any different if instead of HeroesS01E01 it had been ZeroesS104E333

Because heroes have supernatural powers. I hoped they'll come here to my rescue.
By the way, there;s no problem either by telling that I've got heroes.

Can that blend thing be done on REAL PLAYER or JETAUDIO,as these two players were able to play the videos.

How old is your mobo? Because, yesterday, I had gone to repair my friend's PC who had the same full-screen-pixelated problem. I had reset his BIOS once. The problem, started after that. I found that there is an option in BIOS called "Enable Video DAC Snoop". I enabled it, and after that his problem was gone.
He has a intel 810E chipset

the probably a codec or video driver problem

just uninstall ur real media player and any other codec packs that u hav installed. Then restart ur pc. Download K-lite Mega Codec Pack from here
Install it and see if the problem still persists.

der r 2 k-lites K-lite Codec Pack and K-lite mega codec pack

i always install the latter, never faced a problem with rmvb files playin in WMP

hell!! when i renamed it to *.avi i was even able to play it in winamp

install it from the link provided above or even from here K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 3.7.5

BTW by sayin that u got the whole Heroes series in rmvb format, u clearly sayin that u got a pirated copy of the show - overt discussion of which is not really encouraged

AFAIK no online store is providin the show in rmvb format

as for QwertyManiac's - comment that could clearly be viewed as enocuraging piracy

tho if the mods have not said anything it means that they got no problems with such encouragement to piracy

Yeah yeah, as if you guys helping him out on the same issue is not encouraging the same.

If you wish to watch heroes online, you can very well do so at NBC's site.

And as for TV show's legality, its still under debate. The only thing you need to be safe about is not distribute content not already aired.

Oho, You are having problem in rmvb files, right? For .rmvb files media player classic won't be able to play correctly even if you have Klite Pack installed(in most cases I have seen). For that you have to install Real Alternative Player. After that play the .rmvb file with the media player classic that came with it. This time it will play, I think.

Thanks Lucky_Star!! You solved my problem. Now I can play rmvd in Media Player classic, and without the .....wait for it.....p-word.!!!

Oh...But as it has installed the Real Player 11 in process of installing,i can no longer have DOWNLOAD THE VIDEO option in front of youtube videos.What to do?

where r u unable to have this option - in the browser?

wat browser u usin?

if FF then u may use Video DownloadHelper 2.6.1

if sum other browser then u can get a download link by pasting the original url in certain sites

search the forum u will ind the links to the sites

Earlier I had Real Player for Downloading Youtube and sister-site videos(That was the only job of Real player,for me). But now I've uninstalled Real Player , and thanks to the link given by Slugger I've installed the downloader(Thank god I use Firefox).
