Default hard disk password


hi friends,
I use a harddisk through USB and I want to enforce a password on to it so that no one can get through my data in the hard disk. How should I do that.
Alternatively how can I disable my USB ports.

u can disable ur usb ports by right clickin on my computer and choosing manage..in the computer management screen click device manager...
u can dsable usb there

but i don knw abt hard disk password is possible.. i use to have rar it password protect it..
