Default Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Error !!

In my cyber cafe i have 8 machines. i use Win XP Professional SP2 for the P-III 1.13 GHz server and win 2K for the workstations. i have avg antivirus installed and windows firewall disabled. my server was working fine for the last 4-5 years untill yesterday.

all of a sudden i got an error msg "GENERIC HOST PROCESS FOR WIN32 ERROR". my internet connection stops working. none of the workstations get internet connection. even printing from workstations is not possible. i can not disconnect and reconnect my broadband connection (bsnl dataone broadband with pppoe).

i formated my pc and a clean installation done. as soon as i connect to the internet the problem shows up again.

i am giving the screenshots below.

i tried a hotfix (KB894391) from microsoft for this error but still the problem is very much there. everything is stopped and my cafe is suffering. please help.

I have also experienced this error in the past.
After searching with Google, I don't remember where I had got this solution, but what I did was replaces a .dll file called netapi.dll . Now, the error hasn't gone but its frequency has reduced. Earlier I used to get this error withing 10 min of startup but now it does not come up until its 2-3 hrs and sometimes its doesn't occur and net works fine!

I think this is because a virus, but I have been too lazy to do complete PC scan!

are u sure that this will do the job effectively for Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Error !!. will closing all the ports affect my Internet Connection Sharing, Printer Sharing etc .....

i have enabled windows default firewall on a freshly installed XP sp2, and since then i have not encountered the problem. once i disabled firewall to install shared printer driver from a workstation and the problem occurred again.

so its proved that with firewall on everything is working fine. but now i can not install my shared printer on the workstations because of this firewall. need help again....

Click Start, click Run, type eventvwr.msc in the Open box, and then press Enter.
Click the Application category.

Look For Recent Errors > Double Click on them > Another Windows Will open > On the Right Side use the Double Notepad icon to copy the error paste them here

Block "RPC Locator (445)" and "DCOM RPC (135)"

Have a Look.. I Believe It Was Solved
