Wink Is it safe to install Win 2003 from within Win XP ?

I want to install Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2(SP2 Enterprise Edition). But the CD of my Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition is not booting up due to some scratches.

I had copied the two Windows Server 2003 R2 CDs to my hard drive. Currently I'm having only XP SP2 on my PC. When I had double clicked the setup from within XP, it's working.

So, can I install Windows Server 2003 R2 on another partition using Win XP ?

Will the installation cause any corruption of my XP installation if I install Windows Server 2003 R2 from within XP ?

Thanks in advance...

You can safely install Server 2003 from XP. Just select "new Installation" in drop down menu and select the other partition in installation location. It'll not corrupt your XP.
