How to use McAfee super.dat??

Hi i want to update my virus scan(mcafee) with superdat file.
i dont want to download updates everytime.
since i have to format my xp and after that i'll have to update my mcafee online.
but i dont want this i want it be updated offline.
so how cud i use dat file that came with dec07's digit dvd?
can nebody help me?

i tried to install it by doubleclicking it, it started the installation process but after few seconds it diplayed "No virus scan found!"

wats that mean?
