Cool Re: lost saved passwords.... help !

Whenever you
1. Updated Firefox to a newer version OR
2. Used this Step: Tools->Options->Security->Show Passwords->Remove All OR
3. Pressed Ctrl+Shift+Del & then Had Selected "Saved Passwords" in that & pressed "Clear Private Data" button

I am sorry to say, but those cannot be recovered. .Guys, Correct me if I am wrong.

I think from next time you need to use this addon for Firefox for Exporting/Importing your Saved Passwords:
Password Exporter

Chk this link for more info abt Password Exporter:
http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/1...ird-and-flock/

Also, you know that in Firefox, anyone can view your saved passwords.
So set a Master Password for Viewing the Saved passwords.
You can do it like this:
Tools->Options->Security Tab ->Tick Use Master Password

Enter a Master Password & don't forget this password. If you forget this, then you are back to square one.

AFAIK, I really don't know how it could have got lost without doing any of the 3 methods said above. Will let u know if I find it out.

I am assuming you are trying to modify your settings for Firefox.
Firefox recommends you to use about:config instead of directly modifying the prefs.js file.

Anyway, hope you know what you are doing. Check these links:
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/edit
http://www.techspot.com/guides/44-fi...de/page10.html
http://www.mozilla.org/catalog/end-u...riefprefs.html

BTW, you can modify the prefs.js file by
1. Right Click & then Select Edit. OR
2. Open the file in Notepad or any Text Editor.

Hopefully that helps.

Thumbs up Re: lost saved passwords.... help !

The only other reason I think of is Someone else must have used that option & not you. It may have been cleared before you had even noticed.
Or You yourself may have used it earlier.
