Start>Run>C: .Does it open then.??
Also you might want to have a look here in case it's a virus infection.

it is a autorun worm, install avast and perform bootscan so that you can manually delete these autorun-c worms

some unwanted script changes the default .dll files of XP.

DLL-->>dynamic link libraries
Windows XP store information about many of their functions as dll files. Information about the DLLs are stored in the Windows Registry. When a DLL file's Registry entry is corrupted, XP may show you some unwanted behaviours.

We can fix the currpted dll files by running them again through these run commands.Even if you aren't sure what DLL information is missing or corrupted, you can run again.

in c: , d: , e: , f: drives you will find some autorun.inf files, first delete them

One more thing these are visible only when you checked tools->folder options->show hidden files and folders ,hide extension for known file types, hide protected operating system files

Do one thing..Here is the solution..
Download Pe Builder and create a windows Xp bootable cd..
Then boot the cd and there u will find a file explorer..
In that explorer u can see all ur drives..Go to C:/ there u will find autorun.inf..
Open that autorun..inside u will find a program which runs on that autorun...
Delete that program as well as the autorun file..
Do this in all ur drives....

This should work for sure...

U can get the PE Builder from here:-

http://69.90.47.6/mybootdisks.com/my...ilder3110a.exe

or from here:-

http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/?srv.mauj.com/blogs

Now Enjoy

Cool Re: problem in opening any drive

Its Very Easy to Use PE Builder..

Copy All the folders from The Xp Setup Cd into any folder in your drive..

Then In Pe Builder Choose that folder as source drive..

Then Put One Rewritable or writable Cd into the Drive and select the option from the PE
builder to erase and write the CD...

Then restart your computer..Boot ur CD..

Go to filemanager in PE Builder OS..
And delete the autorun Files And the Virus Exe files...

Mail me if u have any problem
