Default IE uninstall


Is it possible to uninstall internet explorer 6? If yes,then how?

yes possible.
start-->> control panel-->> add or remove program-->> Add/remove windows components -->> Uncheck Internet explorer box -->> Next-->>Ok.

U will asked for system restart-->> restart-->> Done !!

Personally I will suggest you to use IE7.It is free to download.

That will only remove the shortcut to IE. It still exists on your HDD (hidden). There is no way you can completely remove IE, rather do not. Coz MS has tied IE to Windows. Fully installing IE (or manually deleting IE files) can break your Windows installation.

I think u can uninstall ie .u wil be asked to insert the xp cd in the drive for that.u can remove ie from add/remove windows components from the disk cleanup option

U dont need any XP CD to uninstall IE...but if U again install it....than XP CD will be asked.

Windows update depends on Internet explorer.

IE is integrated in the OS. Cant/Shudnt uninstall it.

must give an option to uninstall IE,Outlook,WMP,DRM rootkit remover(vista);then,hopefully windows may become better.

Start>Run>appwiz.cpl

Click on Add\Remove Windows Components

Untick IE and then Press Next... Finish the wizard>Restart!!
