Vista reverts back to basic theme

recently ...

i have been having a problem..

some times.. my vista ultimate switches back to basic theme.. ie no transparaency./..

wht should i do..

restarting vista .. solves the problem...

but suddenly it reverts back..

can anyone help me..

You must be using something which requires Vista Basic theme like Java application, etc. Check when this problem occurs? It must be happening when you are browsing the net.

Have you installed Java in your system? Must be some plug-in which is causing this problem.

now modified msconfig .. over time i forgot to check it .. many apps have loaded onto it ..

restated ... now fine .. have to wait and see .. is there a way to revert back if this thing happens again?? WITHOUT RESTARTING??

If you are talking about reverting back to msconfig changes, then NO. You'll have to restart the system to take affect.

Or the other way is to start each application manually listed in msconfig which you disabled.

Yes, its probably some program/software, Rather than re-booting, see if running the following command

rundll32.exe Dwmapi.dll,DwmEnableComposition

re-enables Aero, by flushing it. Simply copy-paste it in vistas start search bar and hit enter.
