Default vista wga prob

Hi guys this is venky I have problem in vista which is explained as below.

I got a HP compaq presario c500 laptop as a gift from my uncle in us it came preloaded with vista home basic in an activated state around 6 monts ago. Recently i got a bsnl bb connection and updated my os with latest updates.I also Loaded the vista compatible version of comodo firewall and set all my ports to stealth status in the firewall and blocked all incoming connections to my pc . Yesterday when i turned on my laptop vista gave a WGA notification and my vista os went into reduced functionality mode.. I have also not created the recovery discs. since only my IE7 is working i tried to validate my os by connecting to microsoft but the validation failed again and again.Following are my questions.

1. Do i have to contact microsoft india or US to reactivate my OS.

2. can i use the f11 function and reinstall my os from the harddisk.

3. Can any one please tell me how did you resolve this problem when you faced it.

Please provide me a solution

U can urself create recovery CD.

To burn recovery disk.
start-->> all program-->>recovery manager-->>recovery manager-->>advance options-->>recovery disk creation.

If vista comes preinstalled with your PC, then customer support is your option to go. But if it doesn't and if Vista is loaded after the pc has been bought, there are strong chances that your installation was using a OEM BIOS crack which shows vista as activated and even the Microsoft's site accept it during WGA validation. But a recent update from Microsoft, which is also present in SP1 disables these cracks.

HI guys thanks for the replies. My problem got solved when i uninstalled the comodo firewall pro for vista which the os described as incompatible.Will advice to all guys to stay away from comodo firewall pro 2.4 for vista as of now it created compatibility issues in vista home basic. I will send a report to the comodo group people to sort this probs as its one of the best free firewalls available today.

Mine was a pre installed os vista home basic.

why did you install cfp 2.4 in vista in the first place ????????/ its clearly written that this version is not compatiable with vista.

Version 3 added support for vista and the same is available for 2 months now.
Dont blame CFP for you mistake..its the best free firewall out there !
