unable to open the gmail in internet explorer

i am unable to open the gmail in the internet explorer browser.when i try to open it it will says

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
otherwise the gmail can be opened in the firefox browser.

You should try the old interface of Gmail.

Step #1: Go to Google.com and signin.

Step #2: Open browser window and paste this link:

mail.google.com/mail/?ui=1

This will get you to the old interface which is lighter than the new AJAX one. Try and reply back.

New one uses a lot of Java Script which consumes a lot of CPU due to which browser crashes. The old interface is the opposite (uses less Java Script).

sometimes even my Linux Firefox crashes due to this; So i always prefer the old one.
