Video brightness prob

hey recently I have noticed tat all videos have an high level of brightness...luks like a translucent white sheet(gives a color of 80s) being spread over the screen...violet turns to purple ...

I thought it existed with flv only...or media player classic only...but it exists for all formats in media player classic and vlc....i adjusted monitor settings..but that became painfully sore while playing games or browsing....
Cud it be some codec problems?The only change i made recently before this problem was to install directx latest and nvidia driver latest....i think tat cud be reason.....

can be a driver issue.Roll back to old drivers..and see the result.

how to roll back?install from original cd?

start-->>right click my computer-->> properties-->>hardware-->>device manager-->>right click graphics adapter-->>properties-->>driver-->>Roll back driver.

i think problem fixed..i visited control center of driver and changed brightness and contrast for video...so changed only for videos...
