How to easily edit a .vob file

I recently brought home a wedding dvd of my relative ,as much of the scenes are boring which i do not need however i need some scenes without any dilution in quality.

If i had a vcd then i could have easily used vcdcutter fast and simple ,but i am new to dvd arena

I tried by changing the file to .mpg but then vcd cutter identify it ,even allow us to select initial ,final point but does not allow to cut and save as usual.

Is there any software which can do these job .The thing is that i nedd the result without dilution?

Try Virtual Dub.. I hope it gives you the required result..

virtual dub is not working ,it starts to scan and then say some filter error and say that "possible mpeg2 stream or some thing
