hi pals, i read in this month EFY mag that Microsoft is going to launch another new OS called "Windows 7" by 2010. What do you think is this ture or just a ...

Yes rumours are ther that Microsoft's Next OS will be called Windows 7 and it will be release near 2010, but nothing is fixed, i guess.

vienna ... formerly.. but plans changed, read unoffcially so cant be sure.

also not sure abt Windows 7

Though chronologically it should have been 2000 that was 7th windows :-P

Windows 1.1
windows 2.0
windows 3.0
windows 3.1

windows 95
windows 98
windows me
windows 2000
windows xp
windows vista

~not-sure-what-neXt~



PS: did i miss anything? i am not actually counting windows NT and windows server editions and of course those petty windows CE devices..

Yes. The next Windows OS is "Windows 7" but its just codename. The final name will be different like Vista (codename Longhorn).

do any of you have windows 3.0/3.1 or other such ancient OS . I just want to try out some.

and i do not think you can install any os before 98 on the hardware.
long long time back when i had AMD 2600 i tried installing 98 i could install but my audio had problems so did my graphics.

3.0 , 3.1 Users is Impossible at this time. Today even a Rs. 2k Junk Yard quality PC can run Win95.
