Default Chkdisk

Everytime when am using any programs or browsing internet a msg keeps on poping up saying an example: if i open realplayer or win amp or any programs related to that the error says ''file is corrupt run chkdsk''. I have rum many a times but no use the error keeps on coming . Can anyone solve my problem

Boot into the recovery console and run chkdsk from there.

If you have a Windows disk, the console can be accessed by booting from the Windows XP CD. It will take its time loading the setup but eventually you will see the “Welcome to Setup” screen. Enter the letter “r” and a prompt will appear asking for the administrator password. After entering the password, type in chkdsk X: /r where X is the partition (C: D: E: etc). It might take sometime, but all the chkdsk errors will be fixed.
