Windows live messenger reinstall issue

I have a problem with the uninstallation of Live messenger.
It keeps giving me this notice
I think it may have something to do with the clone of my OS that I’m now using due to a system failure
Is it going to be a case of me editing the registry?

1: Install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility(http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...bd/msicuu2.exe)
2: Run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
3: Remove any instance of Messenger from the list
4: Reinstall Messenger
